Why recycle hessian?

Once recycled, jute fibre has many uses, especially in construction and agriculture, helping with the control of soil erosion, weed control and seed protection.
Uses for recycled jute include felt, under-felt, carpet backing, hanging basket liner and fertiliser.

The biodegradable advantage of jute makes it perfect for protecting young trees, and recycled jute felt pads are put around the base of saplings to stop weeds growing and give the tree the best start.

Nothing goes to waste at our recycling plant. Even the dust of jute is recycled, bagged and used as a natural fertiliser which is fantastic at preventing weeds and used along our motorway banking up and down the country.
